The boat just drifts. You’re not going anywhere fast, and that’s fine. Palm trees, small houses on the banks, people washing clothes in the canal. Regular life happens while you float by. Meals get cooked on the boat. Fish curry, rice, whatever’s fresh that day.
Narrow waterways, then wider lakes. Fishermen throwing nets. A temple here and there. Kids running along the shore sometimes wave at the boat. Rain shows up without warning in Kerala. When it does, you’re already under cover with a cup of tea, watching it come down on the water.
